In 1955 there was no Internet.

But that didn’t stop kids from learning about sex.

Like most writers I know, I wrote a screenplay. And like most screenplays, mine was in and out of a drawer for ten years. And then I got that phone call writers dream about. It was Jean Doumanian, whose producing credits included Saturday Night Live and a string of Woody Allen films. She loved my script and wanted to make my movie.

Just Looking is a coming of age comedy set in 1955 starring Patti LuPone, Gretchen Mol, Ryan Merriman, and Peter Onorati, and directed by Jason Alexander.

Writing and producing this movie was one of the most joyful experiences of my life. If you have 97 minutes to spare, I’m happy to share it with you here.
